Music Charts

Top 50 Albums of 2018 (as of 19/12/2018)

I listened to a total of 82 new albums this year and have whittled them down to these 50 favourites. As is fairly usual with any music chart of mine, there's a pretty strong representation of Welsh bands/artists - they make up 26% of the overall chart and 40% of the top 10! As always, the chart is entirely subjective and purely a reflection of my own somewhat-unique-but-totally-awesome tastes.

1. Suede - The Blue Hour

The Blue Hour

Hardly a suprising choice from me, I know, but my favourites are my favourites for a reason. A rather epic and interesting album from one of my favourite bands. I've not found it as instant as Bloodsports or Night Thoughts, but that isn't a bad thing. Often the growers are the ones that become the more long-term favourites. Hearing some of the songs live was a total joy, plus one that I'm looking forward to experiencing again in 2019.
